Arrow of Light

Jeffrey got his Arrow of Light this month. His last official Cub scout meeting. How can he be that old? Our cub master came over to ask Jeffrey a few questions to make his ceremony more personal. I wish I would have recorded that conversation. Jeffrey cracks me up. He is so eleven. So Jeffrey.

This is a list of his top 3 favorites right now:

-Queen. The band. He is obsessed. He loves the music. He could watch YouTube all day and sing along. And Freddie Mercury is fascinating to Jeffrey. Old Freddie is the new measure of skinniness in the Blackmun house. As in "she's almost as skinny as Freddie Mercury." Almost. Because no one really is that skinny. Except Freddie.

-Greek mythology. He finished the Percy Jackson series this year. (He is such a great reader.) I think that furthered his love of mythology. The Gods are so cool. He knows loads of interesting facts about all of them. Just ask and he'll tell you. 

-Legos. So glad this still made the list. He's always loved Legos. He can still sit in his room for hours and create intricate battle scenes with his Lego guys.

They played "We will rock you" in the background as everyone came in to the gym. Bro. Wilson made a big Lego guy into a Greek God and had Jeffrey put it together. He thought it was all super cool. And then he got his arrow. He worked hard for it. Proud of my boy. And love all these things that make him so him right now.
