Kids Day

The last day of school came and went. Kindergarten, second grade and fifth grade are a thing of the past. They came home with stacks of papers, broken crayons and autograph books, hung their backpacks on the hall tree and never looked back. We celebrated Kids Day with presents and ice cream cake and a dinner of their choice.
Now we are in the throws of summer, late mornings, sun drenched days and freckled faces. We have three glorious weeks left before they walk through those doors again. First, third and sixth grade are looming. But for now, we will let those backpacks sit a little longer. We will spend our days in the water. We will eat watermelon and play soccer and stay up late with the sun. We will soak in every last moment we can.
