Owens tourney

This was Owen's first tournament on his new team. He is still trying to find his place. It's not what he's used to. He's used to being the best player on a crummy team with grouchy coaches. Last year was kind of a nightmare. But this year is different. This year he had to try out and he made the premiere team. It was stressful and exciting. In equal parts. But here he is. There are expectations now. From his coaches and his team. ALL the players are really good. He is not indispensable like he once was. He has to prove himself, fight for the ball, show he can do it. He has to find his place again. It's exactly what he needs. The kind of thing that will stretch him and teach him and make him work for what he wants.

This tournament was a good place to start. He had the stomach flu. He threw up before and after the games. But he pushed through. He did it even when it was hard. It made me proud. These are important lessons to learn. And this is the best way to learn them.
