Two.

My sweet boy turned two this month. Two! It seems hard for me to really remember a time when Brooks wasn't part of our family. Or maybe our family just seems so much more complete with him that I can't remember how it felt without him. Either way, this little boy of our is a blessing. He brings out the best in all of us. He makes me remember to be loving and soft and to slow down a little bit. He makes Jeff feel loved and brings out a sense of care and concern in him that nobody else can. He helps Jeffrey to feel responsible for someone he loves. That is such an important thing for a boy his age to feel. Jeffrey is the first to get Brooks a bottle when he is tired and hold him on his lap while they watch cartoons together. And then there is Owen. He is so protective and loving when it comes to Brooks. He will play games with him and make him lunch and comfort him when he is hurt. Brooks brings out a side of Owen that I love. And Brooks and Paige are the best of friends. Brooks squeals when she wakes up every morning and gives her a big hug. And then they spend their days playing together. They push doll strollers and play with babies. They play with cars and balls and markers and nail polish. And at the end of the day she still tells me how cute he is, how she just wants to squeeze him because she loves him so much. He really does bring out the best things in all of us. And now he is two. And we are all so much better for having him in our lives. Love this little boy of ours. So much. Happy Birthday Brookser.

So cute! All your kiddos were so dang cute. They were so worried about him when I came over when you were rushed to the hospital. None of them wanted to hear him cry. We feel the same way about the baby of our family. Curtis has been such a blessing and bond that we Nelsons can't imagine life without.
