A real stage

Little Miss P had her very first dance recital on Saturday. They had been practicing for months. We mastered the art of messy buns just minutes before. She was blushed and lipglossed to perfection. And really, really excited. A stage. She was going to perform on a REAL stage. And perform she did. All those little girls strutted out in their little green tutu's. They jumped and spun and shook their bums. And then the best part came. As the dance ended, they ran off the stage in a line. With Paige blowing kisses to the audience. Big dramatic gestures, arms gracefully thrown out in front of her. She was the only one. It was like she had it all planned out. Exiting with style. We asked her later, where she had learned to do that. Learned to do what? she asked. The kissing, we said. It's just what you do, she said. Like it was the most obvious thing in the world. And now we know.

When we got to the car, this is the conversation that took place in the backseat:
Paige: "Grandma, can you even believe that you are riding in the car with someone so famous? Someone who just danced on a real stage?"
Grandma: "I was just thinking how lucky I was, to be in the same car with someone so famous."
Paige: "I know, right?"
