Admittedly, we're a little late on this one. Most 6 year-olds already know how to ride a bike. Jeffrey, on the other hand, had no interest. He got his little rocket bike for Christmas when he was 3 and he loved it.
With training wheels. Once we took the training wheels off, the bike went to the basement, never to emerge again. For his 6th birthday we got Jeffrey a "big boy" bike with NO training wheels. He thought it was cool, but he was worried. No training wheels. Hmmmm... He gave it a try, fell off, and it went to the back of the garage. At least we were making progress here, the garage is a little better than the basement. 6 months went by. Finally last week we got his bike out again and gave it a try. He was a little nervous (look at his face in the middle picture) but he did it. He made it down the street and then fell off. He got up and rode back home again. He went back and forth 4 or 5 times and even though the stopping and starting was still a little rough, he did it. I was so proud. His bike now resides at the front of the garage, thank you very much. How's that for progress?

Good for you Jeffrey. Ella is still working on her bike too. Some kids are just a little cautious.
