Halloween

I love Halloween. Especially in our neighborhood. Halloween night is magical here. The streets are filled with children, dressed as a wizard or a duck, the Mad Hatter or Alice. This year the weather was perfect. It drizzled off and on all night. The sky was dark and spooky. The children ran from door to door. They got loads of candy. They came home and spilled out their loot on the floor. They traded for this and bargained for that. They fought over who would answer the door to pass out the candy. We had hundreds of trick-or-treaters. Then when the night came to a close we turned off the porch light and they pulled out their sleeping bags for our annual Halloween slumber party. There is usually giggling and kicking and some more giggling. This year it was silent. I went out to investigate and all three kiddos were sound asleep within ten minutes. I love Halloween.

Robert was a duck, too, with the exact same costume! Brooks looks adorable.

We were missing Daybreak so much on Halloween. It's not really a big deal here. The kids 'trick-or-treated' our apartment. We gave them candy from the bathroom, the bedrooms, the living room, and the kitchen. They were thrilled because they were sure it was going to be a candy-less Halloween.

Love your costumes!
