We went to Temple Square on Monday for family home evening and it was such a beautiful night. The boys saw a picture of the Christus in a book that we were reading on Sunday and Jeffrey remembered seeing it at temple square and wanted to go see it again right then. So we compromised and went the next day. The boys were really in awe as they stood at the foot of this huge statue of Christ. I sat behind them and watched, trying to soak in the moment, remember how small they looked, how sweet and innocent. After the presentation, Owen walked up to the Christus again and pointed to the marks in Christ's hands and feet. You could see the concern on his face, the little wheels turning in his head. "But he will get better, right?" It's moments like that, those small, but significant moments that make me so glad I get to be a momma to these 3. When I sit down at the end of the day and wonder if I'm doing anything right, if they are learning the things they need to know, if they are going to turn out to be good, decent human beings... moments like that make me realize it's all going to be ok. So, maybe it's alright to let go of some of the guilt, loosen up a little, enjoy my kids more, and remember the things that are really important. Owen seems to have it down.
